In developement by 21st Cebtury toys, this 109 is designed to fit a detailed LW pilot from the GIJoe sized genre.  They make incredibly detailed stuff.

It must be, Kieren. The control surfaces, and tail structures are no where near scale. That implies it is intended to fly.

Royal used to make a 1/4 scale version of the 109F4 (I think it was). It had a pretty hefty price for a balsa kit, but Royal kits were the best then and probably still are.

Recently, the only Royal 1/4 scale kits I have seen are the F4U1D and the Christen Eagle II.
