because it would be fun to drive around in, popping panzers. Not going to see it any time soon if ever but it would be fun to have.

You're not going to pop a panzer or any other tank in this game in a Dodge WC55.  A jeep would be able to kill you, that's how much of a POS the Dodge WC55 was.

So you're saying that dispite the fact that the Dodge WC55 can out run a panzer, there is no chance that you can get in behind them, kill them with a few shots, and then scoot before his buddies figure out where the shots came from and kill you? I'm not sure I buy that.

Do you know anything about the Dodge WC55 or as it is more commonly known, the M6 Fargo?

First off, the Fargo could not fire on the move and the 37mm was mounted facing to the rear and had to be shot that way as it could not be fully depressed when facing forward.  It had no armor and despite what you think, the 37mm Gun M3 was ineffective against German armor of the time.  Most of the Fargos that were used in the Tunisian Campaign had the 37mm gun removed and reverted to being used as a cargo truck.  In addition, those Fargos that did keep their guns in the Tunisian Campaign were pretty much slaughtered when they ran into the more heavily armed and gunned German tanks at Kasserine Pass.

By 1943, the Fargo was being removed from service because it was ineffective and by 1945 was declared obsolete.  The only reason why there were so many produced had nothing to do with how effective it was, it was due to the fact that it only cost around $4,000 to build.

Your little scenario wouldn't play out since the Fargo couldn't fire on the move and had to be parked with its bellybutton pointing towards the tank.  Hell, a tank crewman would be able to take you out with a pintle gun.

There isn't any GV that you can reliably score hits in while moving, so your point is moot. Second, I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to use this thing in open combat. Scoot around the flanks, kill one of them, and then motor away till they've forgoten about you.

You're incorrect about not any GV not being reliable in shooting on the move.  Just look at any modern tank, all of them have gyrostabilized main guns that allow them to shoot accurately on the move.  If you don't believe so, just read about that how a US armored company wiped out an Iraqi tank battalion at the Battle of 73 Hastings.

The Sherman and Pershing both had gyrostabilized main guns that allowed them to fire on the move and yes, score hits.  There is a paragraph in Cooper's "Death Traps" that talks about an armored task force that came under fire from a German road block in the woods consisting of some German tanks.  The US task force had the only Super Pershing in the ETO that was near the front of the column and while on the move, swung its turret to the woods and fired two rounds in quick succession.  Cooper, who was in the middle of that column saw to fireballs in the treeline indicating that the Super Pershing had scored two hits on two German vehicles.

So my point isn't moot.

Way to go and insult the World War II veteran Fargo crews that fought in this vehicle in North Africa out in the open against German tanks.

Yeah, you're gonna out flank them and get behind them and then have to back up in reverse so you can get point the 37mm that's in the cargo bed at the German tank.  Remember, you can't fire the 37mm gun forward, the blast would literally destroy the cab of the truck from the blast concussion in addition to the windshield also blocking you from being able to fully depress the gun while facing foward.

As a tank destroyer the Fargo was a piece of crap and completely and totally ineffective against German armor, there is nothing that you can present that shows otherwise.

I make kills regularly and consistently on the move in at least 3 tanks in the game. The T-34/85(My favorite smooth rider), the M-4 Sherm, and even the panzer on flat terrain. With the panzer you simply time the rhythmic up & down swing of the gun and it ain't much worse than shooting quail, Chucker Partridge, or Huns. It surprises heck outa them when they're so carefully planning their shot and the blow up first. Today I killed a tiger with a one shot smoke/turret, and a follow up to finish him w/o stopping in a T-34/85.     :neener:

It would be step above than wishing for the M6 Fargo.

I have to disagree with you on that one Nemisis. Most of the kills I make in the T3485 are while I am moving. The speed and fast turret make it ideal for booming and zooming on the move..

nem... ive hit countless GVs in the game while on the move. the only GV i have a problem doing this with is the stupid tiger. And that was basically a heavily armored mobile gun platform :lol waitttt....all of them are

Gosh I love this place; didn't know there WAS such a thing until this thread.  All the information I can find tells me it's the WWII armor equivalent of a Yugo.

I saw where it could (also) carry HE.  We could always park it in the middle of a de-acked town and plink at buildings.

I've never been able to reliably hit a moving target while moving at more than, say, 800yds. If the panzer were a bit larger, I could do it, but I'm always just a bit off.

And Ack-Ack,  I know we're not going to get the M6 any time soon, if ever (said it twice now actually).

They wont make the tanks bigger because you suck.
