The days of old and pilots were bold
« on: August 17, 2010, 11:51:01 PM »
I started flying sims with my Pop back in the late 80's and early 90's starting with Falcon and after I retired from the Navy Pop asked me to try AW. Pop flew Pac 1 with cpid of Gabon and I flew Euro as Tipan. I had to fly against the likes of Rumel in euro and my dad in Pac1 who would make short work of my D9. You remember your great fights and the maneuvers you performed to win those fights but the fight I remember the most wasn't even flown by me. I had gone into big PAC just to see what it was like in there and I was flying at around 10K and saw a team member above me at about 15 to 17K and above him I saw 5 dots and knew he was about to be bounced. I typed F6 at 17K in so and so sector your about to be bounced bring them down and I can help. He answered me saying I have these guys right where I want them. I watched them dive and saw they were all flying Spits and all from the 555 squad. The f6 rolled inverted into a dive then pulled hard back on stick and came up at the spits at a 45 degree angle and rolled inverted as first spit passed. Then I was caught off guard to what this guy did next, he pulled hard back on stick and rolled again right on to the tail of the last spit fired and downed spit. Three spits broke right 1 went left the f6 pulled hard left inside spit 2 and fired spit 2 gone. the other 3 spits pulled hard left as the f6 rolled inverted again into a dive with spits in tow at 5K out and above. The f6 pulled hard back again and put nose on to spits at 45 degree up angle and as first spit blew past he rolled inverted again and pulled hard back onto the last spit and fired inverted  killing spit 3 rolled and pulled right inside spit 4 and fired killing spit 4 now spit 5 is on his 6 so he rolls inverted againand so does the spit the f6 pulls hard back the snap rolls pulls hard back again to nose vertical rolls again and pulls back and into the spit who over shoots the f6 which has now rolled again and nose up and flames spit 5. I was laughing when I saw this guys macro flash in the chat bar it was so funny and so fitting for this guy. I had so much fun watching this F6 dispatch 5 spits all by his lonesome. When he said he has these guys right where he wants them I thought of that ol saying I have these guys surrounded and you realize hes alone. From that day forward I checked the stats on who was the top dog in each arena and for 6 months this F6 flier ruled Big PAC then AW was no more. I miss those days of NKL, Hoagi, VCAT, Gabon ,Rauml and many others but out of all of them that 1 F6 flier stood out among the rest at least for me it did. I never could beat the guy and he always flew an F6 and he always flew with with the A's and he always flew alone. He was a stone cold flier but then again compared to me everyone was. There are guys of that caliber in AH but again AH is light years ahead of AW but back in those days its all we had. So don't complain about not having fights or the fun fight you have to make it  what you want to. Fight your fight or look elsewhere is what I always said <S>.

I found this to be a very interesting story.
To understand true love, lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car for an hour and then see which one is glad to see you when you come back

Good story?  Interesting?  I couldn't get past the first couple of sentences.  The lack of paragraphs turned me off quickly.  I can't bring myself to stare at a large wall of text like that and try to read it...

I think that macro went something like this " Slap leather guns roar ya got no skill ya fly no more". I flew Euro all the time and I only saw that guy maybe 3 times his cpid was either sixgun or 6guns but I do remember his squadrons name "Gunslingers".

I flew with "Gunslingers" for a short while, I think "hoot" was with them as well he plays AH as "Hooter".
