WMTom in the MA
« on: August 19, 2010, 10:36:03 PM »
I have been getting some PMs implying I might be less than honest in my playing.  Despite what you might have heard on CNN, I am one of the troops still here in Iraq.  I play over a satellite making a double hop back to the states.  A good ping for me is in the 670 range but that sometimes jumps to 1200.  Long story short, I have lag issues.  I cannot change it, not until I get back to the States.  Anyone who thinks I might be less than honest with my playing, should try flying at such high pings (it is amazing how many times I have been shot down by some one who did not fire until they were past me).

I know I said a bad thing implying CNN would be less than factual.

Tom they just don't know any better.  Don't worry though.  School starts next week and Halo Reach is coming out soon.  We'll have at least a few weeks of reduced squeaks.

And <S> thanks for your sacrifices.

It's no fair teasing us with tales like this without naming any names.  How can we do a proper BBS witch hunt for the fools that PM if you don't provide us a name?  GIVE A NAME DAMNIT!

Oh sure Tom...use the age old excuse that you are currently in Iraq...your ping rate is high..the peanut butter is old...you have to keep ducking behind the bunker when explosions happen....and uhhhh lag...lag...lag...

Gee Tom, you mean the media doesn't tell everything just the way it is?     I think most of us with half a brain realize this, and I for one thank you for your sacrifices.  Stay safe and hurry back home.   :salute
