You have ever looked an OZkansas layout? If TT  and just a few other other keybases are taken, tank combat quickly dies down for a side.

On Compello however, there are the strings of Vbases all over the map, you never run out of vbases spawning to other VBases, which is about the best thing for tank combat - spawning to airbases usually results in getting a bomb or some 37mm guns instead.

Also Compello is great in providing  all gameplay opportunites, yet there is instant & quick air combat possible about all the time.
Look at trinity... when the map comes up, the eastern country faces long ocean flights or 30k mountains.... or  beta2 - the only map that never fails to make LWBlue the most popular arena if it's up in LWOrange ;)


Note that recently  GV/Vbase  battles on all maps had been declining. In the last few years, you could alway find a GV battle on Compello, It's probably the map I have fought most of my tank battles since the original Tank Town died.

Weird b/c i do the least amount of my tanking on that map. Even though there's long strings of v-bases most still fly a plane over to it and drop the hangers. Just not allot of tank action.

And like I said the massive furballs just aren't my thing. I find it rather boring to up a plane and then get swarmed by 20 planes. Thats what makes this map so boring and sucky.

And don't even get me started on the map in LWB. It takes suck to a whole new level.

funny i seem to have a better time on the older smaller maps than the newer bigger ones :)

It wasn't always that way. Once it was quite a favorite of many players and was being asked to return for almost 3 years. But since the concept of Tank Town has been lost, most of Trinity's appeal was lost too

If someone ups a gv mission in TT it will get a pretty good battle going. Me and my squadies used to do that everytime the map came up. We could get at least 40 people involved in a fight.

It's also got the best spawn battle in the game at V135.  :devil

I guess it's a matter of perspective, gv'ers generally get bombed when a large battle erupts on a base take that includes gv's. That can be a pain, especially when the spawn is 15 minutes drive across hills. But your generalization is way off base.

I suppose thats why when I enter an arena and its the uterus map, without even upping, I instantly leave? I don't think its the players that cause me to do this. Suckage of map is the main factor.

I won't dispair though, I'm sure we have a doctor in psychology on the forums that will tell me its all in my head.

I don't know what your talking about because his statement is totally wrong. Each map is little more or less fun than others. And a few are allot more fun and a few are allot less fun.

Absolutely.   Most players seem to think they aren't the crux of their problems.   So it's easier to blame maps, ENY, etc.   A convenient excuse as it were.

I know that if I spawn into a camp I'm not coming back. Of course I think I'm a little bit on the smart side. Of course I know this just ruins YOUR fun but it doesn't have anything to do with the map, I just don't like getting killed before I can fire up the engine.

Maybe more people are smarting up and are getting better at avoiding the spawn camps. Maybe they are getting better at busting them.  I've had fun GV fights on all the maps, and I've run into nothing but spawn camps on on the maps.

It's the people, not the maps.
