It is that time of year again, leaves are beginning their change, the air has a nice cooling tint to it. Football is right around the corner. Soon, those north of Georgia will begin sitting next to their fireplaces watching the Thanksgiving Day Football games.

I'd like to start a thread about the sports (American) Football and Basketball. Being a southern boy and a true blue Kentuckian, both sports are endearing to me. I'd like for this thread to be a true representation of the love of sports, friendly competition and rivalry (Non-threatening, of course, this goes for all you UK, UNC, duke, Louisville, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, California, Miss. St. and Indiana fans. And anyone I might've missed or let slip through the cracks).

Bold predictions, your first game, general discussion about Football and Basketball.

My Bold Prediction (NFL) Farve (Minn. Vikings) will get to the Playoffs and that is it. (Disagree, I'm open for it). 
My Bold Prediction (NCAA Football) The Kentucky Wildcats will lose only one regular season game to Florida and get a bid to any of these three bowls... Outback Bowl, Cotton Bowl or Capital One Bowl. If you don't live here in the Bluegrass, you have no idea how goo the team is sounding right about now. I also think Boise is going to Arizona in the Winter.
My Bold Prediction (Mens CBB) My Final Four: Kentucky, UNC, Purdue and Michigan State. Possibilities also include Kansas, Syracuse and I wouldn't count out Butler again.
My Bold prediction (NBA) I don't watch it, sorry folks.

Please make this a clean, fun thread for everyone to enjoy, if you have nothing positive to add, don't add anything.

I think you're right, the Raiders are definitely going to surprise some people this year.

My three favorite teams
Dallas Cowboys - Will either be REALLY good or will implode (I'm betting on the latter).  Might make the playoffs but that will be it.  Jerry, in a fit of Skeletor rage, will fire Wade after the season and go after another high profile name. 

TCU Horned Frogs - Talented team but they're not Texas, Ohio State, and the like.  Double digits in wins and possibly MWC title.  Will miss out on a BCS bowl because nobody takes the 'little' conferences seriously.

Texas Long Horns - I'm predicting a sub par year.  Losses to Oklahoma, TAMU, and possibly Texas Tech, will bring a sense of reality back to Austin. 

Overall I think the NFL and the BCS are going to be a dogfight to see who comes out on top.

You know what? I hope so.  When the Raiders are good the league is a lot more fun to watch.  They need to get nasty like they used to be.

You atleast have to beat Tennessee to be considered good in football, thats not saying much.

We always choke against Tennessee, even our '07 team which beat #1 LSU couldn't beat those sloppy overrated Vols, I don't get it.

* Even with miami, the pats, and the jets in their division...the Bills will impress.

* Jets/Cowboys in the superbowl... cowboys lose..but become the first team to ever host their own superbowl.

* Morbid Prediction: A player dies on the field this season..first time since I was a kid... 1971 I think.

* Odd Prediction: A small fire in a stadium erupts on game day..but caused more panic than injuries.

* Karaya comes THIS CLOSE to winning our Official NFL U-Pick 'em...but forgets to make his selection in week 16...and thusly comes in second.
