8" Gun View Glitch...Can Not View From Inside of Gun - Need Testers

For some reason I Can NOT get an internal or inside view from the 8" guns on a cruiser...the view is an F3 style of view that is gun relative, though pivots with the gun...

If you guys could test this and either confirm or debunk this I would really appreciate it...

I tested this offline, online with a TA trainer in TA, and in MA with an MA guy...

In both TA and MA the volunteer testers could not obtain an internal style view in the 8" gun and they confirmed what I was seeing...

All of the other guns work fine: 5", 40 quads, 40 doubles, 20's etc

Can someone please test this ?

I think this is the way it is intended to be! Its probably the next best thing to modelling a single station (gun directors station) to control all of the guns which would really be a lot less fun if it were done that way.

Did you test it?

It has never been this way before...

You have always in the past been able to assume a first person perspective with the 8" guns...exactly like the rest of the guns...

So far the Trainer in TA and tester in MA confirm what I am experiencing...

What 'should' and/or 'should not' be is an argument for another day...

I need someone with cruiser gun experience to test the guns and tell me if they are experience the same issue...

Nobody can gain or achieve a first person perspective with the 8" guns on a CA

That makes this an official bug report....

Not a bug. It is supposed to be that way. I think it has been that way for a little while now.

Existential (non first person) view specific to 8" guns has NOT been a 'feature' in the past...

As recently as a week ago it was not that way...

I am seeing what you are talking about. I do definitely remember the 8" being like that in the recent past though.

Edit: I just looked at the updates all the way back to Version 2.17 and I don't see anything that says this was added, so who knows.

OneWay I have to say it is quite possible that what you are experiencing is a bug and it is also quite possible that it is perfectly normal. Its very difficult to tell what you are seeing and whether what you see is different from what I see. It would help if you had posted a screenshot with your post.

I was using the 8" guns last night, worked the same as it always has ...

I think maybe oneway somehow set up his default view as 3rd person so now everytime he goes into the gun he is in the third person perspective.

Actually I never used the "F3" mode from the guns, so I was comparing the first screenshot Chalenge posted as 3rd person, as you are not looking down the barrel like you would in a tank...

Oneway you're aiming the 8" guns from the fire control unit on the CA, not the turret itself. As far as I can remember it's been that way for several years now (I think it changed with the fleet update) but I do remember the old days of aiming it from the turret.

8 inch gun working the same it always has for me 8 years or so.  Looks like your sitting on top of it sort of with a reddish cross hair in open space.    I'm not sure what your trying to describe but as far as I know you could not view from inside the gun.
