Luckiest Ship Gunner Shot Ever?
« on: August 24, 2010, 11:47:16 PM »
Check out this film http://www.mediafire.com/?wwyg9ckzjks9s29

I'm just about to land at my base when my right wing explodes! I figured a Wirble had shot me, or a squadling had attached my wing with explosive bolts. It wasn't until I thumbed through the scores that I found out I was killed by a ship gunner! You can make out the fleet waay in the background behind me.

Washout1 was the lucky devil that landed the shot.

Yea, there would have be a mass protester after that gunner who did it.

Probably would have missed you if you were flying a fighter instead of a bomber... :)

I shot an F6F tonight from the 8" position just before I towered to move to another position for bombers that were coming from behind the CV. I still got credit from the hangar which is just crazy.  :D

I took a one-shot kill while flying an FW near a CV group last night. Trying to protect a bomber flight, circling around to pounce some fighters, and BOOM was gone. Some accurate gunners out there with the bigger guns.

About a year ago I was messing around with the SB as an AA platform. I once got 2 planes in one "sortie" with it.

The easiest are the ones coming straight at you to bomb, but the ones I got were 90 degree passing by shots. Bout shat me britches.

I like doing those shots. Go into land mode, click on the base at certain points and you can hit multiple people landing or taking off.  :rock

Somebody got a lucky shot, or questionable "how did you do that?" shot on me.  I was 6 k high , 1.5 -2 k away (flying away) from a V-base.  Got me tail shot off from the ack.
