Probably the easiest and most oft used method of providing maximum customability for avatars (which relates directly to our skins) is the provision of multiple options in various details, the squad logo is an example of this so we already know it's possible in AH. There could be multiple choices in colour/texture (e.g) for individual parts of each a/c like the fin, rudder, elevator, nose etc and maybe a choice of insignia (RAF, USAAF, Luftwaffe etc) so the odds of two guys ending up with exactly the same scheme are very long.
I'm not entirely sure why the community hasn't already demanded this, I guess it has something to do with an apparent commitment by the 'authorities' to stick rigidly to historical accuracy - strange really when you put it alongside the three country system. I only fly WW1 these days and generally up my favourite mount (Camel) in its' historically accurate skin against small hordes of Dr1, DVII, F2b and other Camels... if anyone can find an account of that scenario in the annals of history I'd be very interested to read it.
And btw the 'small hordes' of which I speak are getting smaller, someone needs to listen hard and act soon or they could disappear altogether.
