CH Pro Throttle jerky

Hey guys. my throttle is very jerky lately. can anyone help me stop it? idk if the sensors are just dusty or what but in mid flight my throttle jerks back and forth so i cannot stay at the same speed most times

Probably yours is just getting old. I had two wires on mine that were making questionable contact after ten years so I soldered them directly. What I mean is... the wire group that comes up to the handle portion of the throttle is attached to a multi-pin plug at the handle end. I found the wires that were loose (not attached to the female spade connector properly) and soldered them to the circuit board at the base side of the plugs female counterpart. Of course I am completely comfortable with that sort of thing and I dont know if you are.

That was my fix anyway.

Making the connector slightly oval with a pair of pliers will tighten the fit, but soldering it directly has got to be better.

I remembered this morning also that there was a wire in the area where it makes the turn to go up the handles stem that was pinched. You should make sure you dont have that same problem also. I tested them all by running my fingers down the length of each wire and then I spliced the wire and added a little heat shrink.

Make sure it's properly calibrated in both Windows and in game is the first thing you should do.  If the problem still persists, open up the Pro Throttle and make sure the wire connectors are firmly seated on the potentiometer contacts.  If you have contact cleaner (should still be able to buy some at RadioShack if not Frys or most hardware stores) then gently remove the wire connectors from the contacts and clean them.  Put everything back together and calibrate in both Windows and AH.  If the problem is still there then the potentiometer is dying. 

If you have a CH stick, you can take the potentiometer from the throttle on the stick and put it the Pro Throttle.  It will save you from having to pay $12.95+ shipping to get a new single potentiometer from CH.

Oh yes silly me! I forgot that the whole thing started just like Bar said and I ordered a potentiometer and replaced it and still had the problem because the controller was ten years old and repeated use had taken its toll on the wires.
