ELSA 3D Revelator

To HTC,

I've recently got a pair of 3D Revelator shutter glasses. The main reason I bought them was because I saw them in action at a exhibition with Janes WW2 - and the 3D effect was just amazing.

Now with AH I cannot get any 3D effect at all. I tested various games now. Best stereo effect in a Flight Simulator gave me "MigAlley", I haven't tested Falcon4.0 though...  I think the lack of stereo effect in AH has something to do with z-buffer. During the game I can call up a menue which shows me the diversion of different z-buffer layers. In games with many objects at different distances this menue is full of different values. In AH there is no indication at all. The 3D Revelator only uses D3D, but this shouldn't be the problem.

I know that this is no main issue but never in the history of gaming stereoscopic vision was achieved as such a good price with very good results as with the Revelator. The 3D cockpits in JanesWW2 just look amazing; I am sure AH would achieve results just as good - not to mention flying through the canyons in full 3D!!!

To put it in a nutshell, Revelator support (if there even is something like that) would really improve the immersive effect of AH. HT, are you utilising any tricks with z-buffer to improve performance or something like that?

cc - thank you HT

I would really love to fly in 3D. Because I am no technic freak I do not what problems you encountered with z-buffer, but please keep trying. I am sure there are some people who would appreciate this and even more who would get a pair of these glasses when they see how amazing the effect is...

BTW, standing ovations for Macchi - awesome job done!

Very cool effect with those glasses.  Don't bother using them with F4.  EAW and SDOE are great with them.  HT, it would be great if you did add the Z-Buffer....Keep up the great work!!

Thorns, I think you can get them everywhere you get ELSA GFX cards. EBWorld has got them for sure. Take the infrared version, not much more expensive but much more comfortable. You get best results with an ELSA gfx card but other TNT/TNT2 card should work fine.
