Just a note here for anyone that decides they want to lubricate the internals of the stick for whatever reason; they've set plenty of traps inside the stick. They've separated the electronics between the upper and lower pieces and hot glued the wires to the frame, meaning if you just yank the bottom off, you'll tear the wiring out. Same goes for the X45, except it isn't hot glued...the wire is just extremely short and thin.
At the same time, it's likely unnecessary to do, since they use a white grease that seems to re-work in to the parts as they move about.
Another random fact; I'd say about 50-60% of the X-52's weight comes from metal strips screwed to the inside of the bottom of the stick and throttle...
