Its not a no icon completely, only enemy icons are gone. It changes the way you look at ACM and SA.

Also who doesn't love head on merges that you can't see the icon coming, kinda like that scene from top gun.

That is the best terrain I have seen.  Took a M8 over the bridge between 2 V bases, wreaked havoc and ran back for home.  Navigating to and across the bridge for the first time was a lot of fun.  I will see about bringing some squadies to tonight's AvA event.

USRanger, that is a well put together map sir!  Kudos!!!

Thank you all for your interest.  It's been an exciting weekend in the AvA with 20-30 people in there every time I've logged in.  Some fantastic & brutal fighting.  I look forward to submitting more terrains for the AvA in the semi-near future (4 more started).

AvA is a fresh change for sure.  Its like a whole new game yet not at the same time, im sure those that have been in there understand.  Has peaked my interest in the game again for sure.  Thanks for the heads up.

what surprised me was a few things. first off, i was able to spot enemies easier than i had expceted with no icons. i was also surprised at how easily i lost those very same cons, if i took my eyes off of em for even a second. it makes the fight feel entirely different. then there's the fact that i don't have that "crutch" known as an icon to give me a clue when to shoot........

it was a lot more fun than i had expected it to be.

tomorrow or wed. night, i'm gonna go in there and blow up some stuff.  :devil

Good to hear.  Bring some friends!  I'd love to see what it's like with 40 people tangling it up.

i put a post up in our squad forum. it seems soulss has already been in there....trying to lure some of the others in, which shouldn't be too hard while there's pee 38's available.

the good fight i had, was geist. one of my turns, i observed two other cons coming in hard.......i don't know why, but they stayed out. i truly thought my 1-1 was gonna turn into a 3-1 real quick......i'm making the assumption he called them off, to continue a good fun fight......and i thank him for that.

this weekend was absolutely fabulous in the AVA. its been the place to be almost every night since we setup that map. the fights have been relatively civil, and almost everyone is having a great time.

we understand that it might not be your cup of tea, and that's OK. for those that want something different the AVA has been the place to be since last Wednesday!

yesterday afternoon i went in there for awhile and i suddenly realized that no one was landing kills. this is when you can tell that the arena, players and planes are pretty well matched up. i saw no one land even 2 or 3 kills. while part of the reason was some "questionable" tactics, it also shows most everyone was having fun and that's all that counts.

We are considering leaving the map up for another week if there's enough call for it, but i leave that up to the players. if you want it up for an extra week, please post something in the AVA forum.

i hope that once we change the map, we dont lose everyone but hopefully we'll be getting some more small maps like twin rivers and we will have more options in the AVA.

<S> to everyone that's participated and thanks to everyone for helping make it a fun place to fight!

You need a lesson or two in marketing...

***id also like to thank 2bighorne,dedalos and pfactordave for their thoughts on the subject. without their comments i don't think as many people would have gone in there to try it out! i guess my marketing skills are better then i thought!

Leave the map, leave the map, LEAVE THE MAP.  Well I'm not a normal AvA guy so I have no say, but if you can't tell, I vote for leaving the map.

This way I'll hopefully be able to at least get in there once or twice more to see it and see if I can bring some others with me.

Very well could have been.  I have found that for the most part 1v1 will be left alone.  Obviously there are the few that play as just like the MA but the percentage seems to be much lower.  I can only imagine how much better anyones gunnery would be in the MA after a month or so in AvA with no icons....

Leave the map.

USRanger has done a great job.  I was so busy in a fighter, I forgot to bomb the destructable bridges.

I was in over the weekend, and it was a very civil environment.  Most of the whining was done by me.

It was eye opening to realize how much I depend on icons.  Other that a P-38 or bombers, there is some suspense when closing on a dot.  Is it a Hurricane or a P-40?  I never lived long enough to tell which Hurri type...
