those many assist
« on: September 03, 2010, 07:24:39 AM »
All to often in ma arena your shot would be the one that brought down the enemy only to learn you get the assist. I would like to see recognition be given to those players who have 2 or more kills. (example : joblow landed 3kills 2assist in a spit 16 of the maud-squad) Also receive a 1/2 perk point say for every 2 assist you get. This would only recognize players more and give some kind of credit were credit is due. This would in my opinion be another great improvement that would benefit all players.

It's not that you do not get any credit for assists: You do get points for your score. :)

Do away with the name in lights .   Do away with the score.  You already know who you shot down and who shot you down.

name in lights is a large part of the game. personally, if i got a good streak of 13 kills in a zero or a pony, id like to land them and be recognized for my work. on the other hand it is not necessary to land kills, but im trying to promote my squad as much as possible and if assists were credited itd help out...

You get points but no perks, right?  Then again, it could lead to somebody running around pinging targets hoping to get assists.

points yes, but no perks. and i dont think it would be a good idea to allow perks for assists just for this reason. but allowing the name in lights is actually just what i need. (no im not score hoing)

If you engage a plane and shoot it down and only receive an assist, that's because someone already significantly damaged the plane more than you before you engaged the bandit.

Here's the best advice in making sure you get full credit for the kill...improve your gunnery skills and you won't have to worry about getting assists.

there's times when I have shot off a wing, made engine smoke, removed part of the tail and still got an assist.  No other friendlies were around.  something is weird but how the damage gets computed, I dont really care if there's a problem or not, since as long as i get to shoot, i am happy .

Sounds like you ran into someone who ran from an earlier fight.

In those cases you'll probably find the bandit had already been engaged previous to your showing up and had a pilot wound.
