Masherbrum I expect you've read "A Question of Honor" by Lynne Olson and Stanley Cloud, pretty much required reading for those interested in the Kosciuszko squadron from the BoB and beyond.  :aok

I have it and read it in three 8 hour shifts at an old job.

I'll get "The Forgotten Few" as well.   Before I returned to Nazgul then joined the WidowMakers, I was CO of "303 Kosciuszko Squadron".   As much as I'd like to bring the 303 back into AH, as they SHOULD be represented, I enjoy the WM's too much.   Good friends and brothers.

I picked up "Spit & Polish" by Richard Whittle, when I was at the Legends Airshow at Duxford in 2005.  Great coverage of the D-Day Polish Spits that operated from Chailey Sussex.  Some wonderful photos included of the pilots and the Spit IXs.

Probably the expert on Polish Spits is Wojtek Matusiak.   I have his first volume "Spitfire IX & XVI of Polish Airmen"

I know he's working on a second volume.

He's also co-Author of the Osprey book "Polish Aces of World War 2"  He helped me out when I was trying to figure out the story on the silver Polish XVI we have in game so that we had enough info for Kev to skin it accurately

If it had been the 2cd post in the thread no one would have got their silk knickers all in a bunch. If I had known what squadron I would noted that as well.

So I repeat:

"If it had been any other nationality I would have pointed that out."

Next time read further. Why no comments on the insensitive puke and cookie comments, especially the one with the  :rofl ?

For the record, I have had 3 relatives (brothers, great uncles) die in combat as well as my name sake. Only one has a grave. The other 3 are MIA.

Because slandering Spitfires on this forum is socially acceptable.  Very few who dislike the Spitfire in AH will distinguish the real Spitfire from the in game Spitfire when it comes to their loathing.  You see it in every Spitfire thread.

I didn't mean to offend anyone. I saw the OP as trying to be funny. I don't hate the Spitfire, I don't try to disrespect it. I love our men and women in combat. My grandfather served in Peleliu. My Dad was drafted at the end of the Vietnam War. My other Grandfather was a Navy pilot. I don't disrespect them. If I had known the actual meaning of this thread, I wouldn't have posted something like that. I thought it was trying to be funny. Please don't take youthful ignorance as disrespect. I would love to say this is the first time but seeing as I have a tendency to be forgetful of content or sompletely ignorant of it, cannot. I have a great respect for pilots, of all nationalities.
