Skin choice
« on: September 06, 2010, 04:01:09 PM »
I think it would be sweet if when you planned a mission you could also choose a skin...as it in now it seems the only choice..and not even a choice is default...
Now if a person didn't have the particular skin they would get default...
This would be more for the special events arenas where you usually have a squad or can organize most to download the skin...sometimes you need/want a particular skin for camouflage dependent on your mission

Some people prefer to fly with their own plane skin and won't change it.  Like me I only fly the spit 9 with the pink skin, you try to change it I will not join and neither will some people that identify themselves with a certain skin.  That's what I was thiking.

I used to fly the pale Mossie............. But it's gone now.  The dark one isn't the same.   :(

Choose the skin you prefer for the plane in the mission.
Choose the same load out and fuel and go to the base the mission is launching from.
When the "Score as Fighter or Attack" box comes up, launch instead of making a choice.

This keeps you in the mission in the skin you want.

Hit ESC and choose fighter or attack.

You may also want to ask which runway before the mission starts so you're not going ---> while everyone else is going <----.

That never bothered me though.

Think his original idea was to have everybody in his favorite skin.  Cool idea. But its better to ask mission to change skin rather than change coad and people still won't use the. Requested skin.

Negative on the favorite skin...in a skin to suit your objective...this is not really for the MA . In some cases a dark skin for low ground work is needed as a silver skin can standout etc etc (which is my favorite just by the by)...this is not about my personal choice cause I like a skin. In a special event where people are in a designated squad for a paticular job..I was asked what skin was to be used...Instead of having to inform each and every person of a load outand skin one stop shop in the mission plan and you can concentrate on other things...

Default skins do not kick in until a certain distance. I've noticed this flying in the AVA lately.  Say if you're flying an A6M2 even if you choose one of the green skins at a distance the default skin is visable to the other player until you're up close. At a distance your A6M2 is the white Tainan AG default and sticks out like a sore thumb. So uif you're wanting to not be seen down low it's best to pick an aircraft with a dark default skin.
