80th FS "Headhunters"
« on: September 09, 2010, 05:58:19 AM »
I just wanted to take a moment to tip my cap to Silat, Delirium, and the rest of the
Headhunters for the most laughs I've had since I "came back" about three weeks ago.
Though I'm always pWn'd nine ways to Christmas by these guys, I NEVER fail to
explode without cacklin' like an old hyena. They are, to use a hackneyed phrase:
"a great bunch of guys".

They'll fight anyway you want to, own you and then move onto the next guy, and
you're always left saying 'How did he DO that!" The particularly amusing part that
day was that they got so many Rook egos mangled that they singlehandedly
managed to get about 40 guys to "hunt" 'em. At times, I watched a single Headhunter 38
engage 4, 5, or even 6 planes, losing sometimes, but winning most; or seemingly so.
And not a single whine from any of 'em about the gangbang it required to take them
on. Hell, they were laughing about it and havin' fun, which seemed to enrage some
of the humor-challenged among we Rooks.

Accusations of cheating, hacking, etc.. by some whose egos couldn't come to terms with
the fact that they just ain't the top-gun they think they are and who fell to their guns
and superb wingman tactics. Me, I know better. I had the pleasure of flying with Silat a few
years back. It was a wonderful learning experience punctuated by good, hard laughter, wit, and
charm. I've remembered that evening ever since.

In closing, I just want to thank the 80th once again. They're a great band of fellows, and
uber sticks, and they'll kill ya not only with bullets and cannon, but with laughter as well.  <S>

I had a little fight with Silat the other night. I felt like a weenie at the end of a stick. It was one of the longest most frustrating fights I think I've ever been in. And what does he say when it's over?...."was we boring or what"  :huh :cry

I absolutely love fighting any of those guys. Just when ya think you're a hotshot they'll bring you back to reality and show you how it's supposed to be done.

Good to know you are up and about again Odd :)

Sorry I missed the fun.  Sounds like the kind of fight where I could have really spread some 38G parts :aok

Well if you think it was fun that 1 night, you should have the pleasure of being in a squad with them.  I was in the damned squad with them for a couple of years and it was a TOTAL BLAST.  There was never a dull moment with those 2 around, especially when SILAT got on his pink tutu rant, you would get to laughing so much you couldn't even see the moniter.  I can believe it took that many to kill them, I have tried for years and they still kill me.

Since I joined the 80th a month ago, I fell in love with the squad the first night. I remember those days when I used to spit in anger for being ganged, picked, etc when trying to live and make it back to base. Now none of that bothers me. Now I just go all in for the pure excitement and joy of flying. I don't care if I live or die. It's all a game and I play in it with good humor. I usually like to see how many parts I can lose in a fight before going down. I'd say I am doing pretty good with that. :) Guppy/CorkyJr/Dan has shown me the light and I have never had as much fun in Aces High as I am having now.

I need to fly online a bit more often. Work has really got my schedule tight these days. See yall out in the cartoon skies!
