Uhh.  No, it's not.

The question you are referring to would be, "why do we need arena caps?"  Which has been answered ad nauseum.

You're missing Lusche's point.  He's trying to say that if there was no cap there would be 214 people in one room.  That's why he said the difference is between 110 and 214 and he is quite correct.

You also missed the OP's point.  He wasn't complaining that one room was nearly empty while the other was full.  He was complaining that with only 200ish people on, they were split into two rooms.

it seems us euros are used to fill the two arenas in our primetime
the trouble being our numbers are not huge, so there is a drip feeding of players entering, slowly raising the arenas to 100 each
so we dont have good fights or lots of fun .annoying!
By the time US prime time arrives the 2 arenas are fairly evenly pegged
its a pity a system cannot be found that when the flow of customers is big trying to log on the cap system could kick in, then the arenas get filled up fast ie US prime time. all would be happier
we are having a different , and sometimes infuriating, gaming experience compared to our American comrades...

well said MrC :aok

worth bearing in mind that Europe is a larger market than the US (and almost as big for just gaming) so if HTC want some of our €s and £s, this really needs looking at ...

The US players would be the ones with the cap issues. If the European market was as big as the US then there would be no need of the shifts in the caps as they would maintain much better. Maybe you guys across the pond need to go on a subscription drive to get the numbers up over there.

by market I mean in a broad sense - Europe has a bigger economy than the US, more people, greater GDP etc etc. The US does however have higher per capita disposable income and a history of gaming, so the gaming market is larger in US vs Europe. although the last figures I saw showed Euro spending on gaming was catching US spending fast.

everyone has cap issues at some point, however being forced into LWB with only 22 other players is much more of an issue than being forced into LWB with 220 other players, and this is what happens early evening euro time. ie when most people want to log on.

if the markets arent vastly different in size why arent there more euro-AH players? simple, most of the US players I know saw AH on TV ads at some point. most of the euro players found AH through word of mouth or ran into to on the interweb. no marketing. I know a few people that could launch AH in europe but I very much doubt HTC would consider paying for it at this point.

if you do find AH somehow, log in and see one arena with 160 players in it which you cant get into, and another which you can but is a fightless wasteland with 22 players, you're missing out on the bulk of what makes this game fun. no great incentive to stump up for a subscription ...

Actually, he was complaining he couldn't get into the full arena.  I didn't see a complaint about the number of people in the arena.

A reasonable experiment, if not going with Lusche's proposal of resetting the arenas when the cap begins and ends would be to fiddle with the time the cap begins.  An hour or two earlier or later and see what happens.

Why?

What he said ...

Same here.

I can not fly on TT, I try every now and them, but the over population just increases the stupidity and I have to log off. The same stupidity is there on a regular day, but being split between 2 arenas is not as heavy. I can move around to avoid most of it, but on TT it's every where and is almost impossible to avoid.

this seems strange to me because the current TT numbers are about what LWO/LWB numbers were during weekends a year or 2 back, was AH unplayable for you then?  :headscratch:

Yes, it was getting there. Unfortunately with my new job I really only get to fly on Saturdays, and I am again working hard to find a fight.
