Another option at high agp bus speeds is to underclock the video card some to compensate.  Its a delicate balance between stability/vid. card perfomance/cpu speed.  Sparkzz

There are some RIVA TNT properties that I'm wondering about, and wonder if one of you guys could help?

There are some options under Direct3D settings for mipmapping (number of levels, automipmap method, and mipmap level detail). They default on my rig to 0, bilinear, and best image quality. Should I tweak these for better performance in AH?

Thanks!

Just now saw this Waxer. You can find a complete TNT and TNT ULTRA Tweak Guide here: http://www.tweak3d.net/tweak/rivatnt/

An excerpt:

Mip-Mapping - the process of making an image or texture into smaller images by dividing by every power of two. For example: 1/4, 1/16, 1/32 of the original texture and so on... This is basically used to have the ability to display a large texture in the distance even though the resolution doesn't allow it.
            --------------------

Another:

Mipmap Levels - This makes a slight speed difference, but I really feel it looks best with lower numbers (I use 0).

Auto-Mipmap Method - Frankly, the speed difference between Bilinear and Trilinear (AKA 8 Tap Anisotropic) is negligible. Turning this to Trilinear will help eliminate that annoying line that suddenly turns textures fuzzy when they get a certain distance away from you. I recommend Trilinear.

Mipmap Detail Level - This doesn't make a huge image quality change, but its speed hit is pretty negligible, and nonexistent in the TNT2. I recommend Best Image Quality.

Anti-Aliasing - Leave it on, things get ugly without it. Some choose to leave it on 3x3, but I still feel the speed hit isn't noticeable enough that it matters. If you're on a TNT2, just set it to 4x4. I recommend 4x4.
