Flame On-Screenshot Art(Somewhat)
« on: September 12, 2010, 07:19:40 PM »
I put somewhat because it was my first time using GIMP, and I pretty much sucked at it IMO. Was just wondering everyone else thoughts about it.

Wow, pretty good for a first try :aok
Is this one screenshot? Or did you make this out of 2 or more screenshots?

Something you can try is boosting the anti-aliasing. This will cut down on the jaggies you see. Access your graphics card options and bump the anti-aliasing up. Also, there is an anti-aliasing option in the video settings on the AH main menu.

If your working with more than one image, try using layers in gimp. That way, if you mess up on one part of the picture, you can fix that one part without ruining the rest of the picture.

I don't know how to use layers in GIMP, I do in photoshop. But I found that GIMP and Photoshop look nothing alike.

Also, it won't let me move the bar in-game when I attempt to move the Anti-Aliasing bar.

Help much appreciated, thanks.

Hmm, Does your graphics card support anti-aliasing? Check your main graphics card settings and see of there is an anti-aliasing option.

I am on a laptop, and they have bad graphic cards. Mine just so happen to not support Anti-Aliasing, but I will be on my desktop soon. So I will look into that.

I hear you. I'm on a laptop, too. I can get anti-aliasing, but I cant get the adaptive anti-aliasing in my options :furious

nice for the first ss art...  I don't like the Fire AH produces very much, kinda reminds me of Mario Brothers flames.  But you can create a heat-like feeling by using the blur there (around the edges, etc), instead of blurring the p-47 so much...

Play around with these shots, you'll get better and better each time.

You had a further out angle than mine. That's what made your edges look a lot better than mine. Your anti-aliasing is also off, due to the jagged edges on the zero's.

(Image removed from quote.)

I'm sorry, but why would somebody want to practice to become worse?

<S> Amaze, nice shot.

Instead of taking a screenshot with the Zero on fire, try just a normal shot of the Zero and make your own fire or use a picture of fire from the internet.

For example. here I used fire from another picture and warped it into the shape it is now.
