I know its not part of WW2 and I know it was 20 years ahead in tech. But it uses a WW2 plane so I thought EVIL CON!

+1 on AC-47, prolly Hitech would do it as a convention plane. Just imagine. going to attack what you think is a C-47 from the side and then it unloads on you

Agreed. The AC47 and AC130 were both made for ground attack roles only. neither had any Air to Air gunnery or defenses

Seriously, do you even bother to research any of these planes?  If you had you would have seen that the guns are mounted on the left side of the AC-47.  The only way a Spooky could have shot down another plane is if the other plane slowed down and flew off the left side of the AC-47.

     Since they are "aimed" from the cockpit, a flexible mount would be pretty silly.
