« on: June 14, 2000, 09:51:00 PM »
Ok i finally got rudders tm elites, Hooked them up with tutoring from Cobra <S> and got them working.  but know my rotaries will not work.  I went in and reedited and saved but still no go.  I got a sweet deal on the pedals from outpost.com only 30 bucks out of pocket i had a gift cert for the rest so USB pedals aint an option right now, any suggestions please advise...

If anyone can help me with my dilemma I will most grateful.
Last night with Cobras help I hooked up my new TM elite pedals to my existing HOTAS with the X36 USB combo. Once the pedals were set in Aces high I lost my controls for the rotary switches, which work great for trim settings. I have toassume this has to do with ACES set up because it was the only thing that changed.  I also did a process of elimination I removed my TM elites from the game port, rebooted and the rotaries still not working.  My final step was to re-edit the commands in SGE, still no help. If any Saitek Gurus are out there I welcome the comments.

Sorry to take so long with the response, but I have been away for quite some time.

I'm not sure exactly how you set everything up, but it may need to be reinstalled. If you do don't forget the nuke USB program as explained by Saitek.

I think you have a USB x36 combo and an analog TM set of Pedals. You should have set up the Saitek per the installation instructions.

When you set up the pedals they should not be connected in any way to the Saitek. You should be plugging them into an older style gameport. You need to go into Windows Joystick controlers and set them up as an additional stick with rudders checked. You will have to experiment a little with what type of stick to choose. I no longer use my old analog pedals so it's hard to remember just how I set them up.

You ignore, or just click past, the calibration routine in Windows for the stick portion of the calibration and get to the rudder portion (assuming you checked rudders pedals when choosing a stick). Calibrate the rudders, finish and ignore the warnings that you are not finished. If you test it you should see the rudder slider working correctly.

The make sure you go the Aces High and go into the joystick mapping area. Choose the rudder for the rudder axis only and make sure that all the other axis etc. are mapped to the saitek properly.

Hopefully you have already fixed the problem.

Your post is a good example of why it is better to choose USB devices if you can afford it ( I know yours was a gift). With USB there is hardly anything to do.

Rangerbob,

Thx for the reply, I nuked and reloaded SGE 1.4 and problem resolved. I like the spacing of the Elite pedals because i use the fightersystems stick and throttle stand with the stick placement in the center. I am considering getting the CH pro usb pedals but I am wondering how the foot spacing is. Spacing is an issue when you have your joystick center mounted (between the legs)

Spacing is almost 3.75 inches between pedals inside of pedal to inside of pedal.
