Possible exploit
« on: September 21, 2010, 04:45:31 PM »
I engaged some Lancs last night shot down the lead and either the guy disco'd or pulled (I'm picking the latter) but only 1 kill was recorded (my side and his)...

send to HTC?  or is this a known gamey feature... I took the wing off the lanc and didn't hit the others and he disappeared  before exiting the wrecked Lanc

Most likely he was discoed after you killed his lead bomber and thereby getting the kill.  Since the game didn't register the other two bombers you didn't get credit for them after the bomber pilot was discoed.

But doesn't that mean he should have lost three? or does a disco not count drones in the equation..I don't really care that I didn't get the kills but found it odd that it only registered as one death for him.....if this is the case people could use it for the 234 and mossie to save losing perks for the drones they paid for..

not a biggie I spose and probably shouldn't have even said anything....

I seen something similiar last night. I finally got on a six of a pony and was tearing him up, and then *poof*, he was gone. No kill, no proxy, nothing. Will have to look to see if I got on film. I know a few others have seen this issue in the squad since the patch.  :salute

If you didnt shoot the drones and you were further than (I think its...) 1.5k from them when they explode you dont get a kill for them. You dont really want the kill for them unless you did damage to them anyway... right?  :D
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

I was actually directly above them when it happened d200/0 and I could see the rivets on the wings (my approach to bombers is for another disscussion  :lol :lol)

I only bought this up, purely for the fact that it seemed like an exploitable game feature and perhaps needed to be bought to note....I always thought if you disco'd it counted as three deaths..(to the buff driver)....I don't care if I get them or not...I didn't lay a round on them, so i shouldn't.

The other plane discoed before the host could have the kill registered which is why there wasn't a credit recorded for the kill.  It has nothing to do with the recent patch, it's just one of those Internet lag things.

This is the reason why the OP didn't get credit for the drones after he killed the manned bomber just prior to the player being discoed.  This also explains why sometimes you blow someone up and didn't get immediate credit and then a few minutes later you get a delayed kill message.

However, if the player was to Alt+F4 out instead of being discoed, you would then get credit from the kill via a proxy (or if you damaged the plane prior to the player alt+f4'd out) since if you Alt+F4 out of the game it counts the flight as a crash/death.

This month alone I have killed a few cons and got nothing. Yesterday I killed a goon and got a assist. Went back and watched the film and he didn't have so much as a scatch on him before I attacked. As far as I could tell I was the only one that fired a shot at him.  :headscratch:

I think it may be something more recent as in the last patch or two as pulling the cord has always been a part of the game so I do not think it has anything to do with that.  :salute

This is something that has been happening since games have been playing over the Internet.  If the host registers the kill prior to the player being discoed then you will get credit.  However, if the host does not register the kill prior to the player being discoed then you will not get credit for the kill.  If the discoed player was in bombers, you will not get a proxy credit for the drones.  Not a bug, not anything else other than the Internet farting.

Yeah, I don't think this is a player or game induced thing. Most all of these kinds of things happen during big missions/furballs and such i've noticed. So much stuff gets to happening and the connection just can't keep up. Next time sprinkle all three when ya go by  :D :salute

Same thing happened to me tonight with MtnMan as a witness, not sure if I saved the film or not.  Had two bombers shot up and smoking, guy vanished and I only got credit for one.
To each their pwn.
