Stick Settings Keep disappearing
« on: September 22, 2010, 09:30:12 AM »
Hi guys,

I started running my setup with a MS FF2 with FF disabled X axis as throttle and Y for RPMs in my left hand.  I use a CH Fighterstick as my yolk and major controls.

I love the setup.   :rock

Here's my problem.  It keeps dropping the map for the fighterstick randomly.  Sometimes it drops it when I quit AH and come back in, sometimes it doesn't.  Sometimes when I restart, sometimes it doesn't.

So, 2 questions, where does AH keep the map settings, and does anyone know why it keeps losing the map for the Fighterstick?

Thanks,

AC130U

Stick configs are stored in the games "settings" folder.  They have a JSM extension on the file name.  The only reason they would disappear would be if the stick is getting another USB ID value (moving the stick from one USB port to another can cause this), or if the file exists, but is read-only.  Some anti-xxx software will cause this.

Thanks Skuzzy.  For some reason AH and CH Control Manager weren't getting along.  CH CM would add a jsm file labeled CHCONTROLMANAGER.jsm. That wasn't mapped. AH wanted to use that file instead of the CHFIGHTERSTICK.JSM file.  Bottom line is I removed CHCONTROLMANGAGER.jsm file from the Options folder and everything's working great.
