The moon
« on: September 22, 2010, 01:51:48 PM »
I just recently got a Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12.2 MP Digital SLR and yesterday my telescope came (Meade LXD75 SN-10AT). It's a monster!  :O

Here's a picture I took

Very nice.

There are several AHer's that are into photographing the stars. Maybe some will chime in with pointers for you.

I used to be into it until that pesky restraining order was filed against me.   :furious

Check out the planet Jupiter. This is the closest approach to Earth since 1963.. Can't miss it......biggest planet in the sky
right after sunset to the east. You should be able to see lots of Jupiter's moons too. The Meade can find it automatically
anyway.

Jack,

Nicely done.

If you are into planetary/Lunar photography, you ought to explore the possibilities of a modified webcam and a program called Registax.  Search this forums for a couple of discussions of the possibilities.
