And you expect to fly a PBY at that slow speed and with little maneuverability in the ack of a carrier task force?  5 inch guys will have a turkey shoot.  The torp carrying PBYs went after shipping, as in merchant ships mostly at night, not daylight runs on carrier groups.

While it might be a nice novelty for someone wanting to spend long hours patrolling for carrier groups so they can report them, the PBY is down the list in terms of use in AH in my opinion.  Lots of other birds that would make more sense first.

We have no use for the PBY, what can it possibly do that we really need?

you my call it a novelty but how can you explain the vals, sallies, sbd, boston, and katies of the game. yes they are good for realy long missions you dont plan on doing and damage during, but they has their historical value. the same case should be made for the PBY, plus its a sweet ride. it can be shot down just as esay as perviously mentioned planes, though it can carry a bigger payload....And i still want a Panther tank too.

Scenario use. PBY might work for a Midway scenario if you had a search phase to it, where only the handful of PBY pilots had anything to do, but that's about it.

Scenario use (BoB) is the big reason for the He-111 push as well, since the Ju-88 we have is too fast for the time period.

I don't think we can do an introduction of the PBY cold.  With the current set-up, I agree it would be a pretty useless aircraft.  With a completely redone strat system that also involves large commercial conveys, it could be a fun strat destroyer.  I also wouldn't mind seeing it as capable of resupplying carrier groups.  Both of those require fairly major changes in the game, so I'm not holding my breath.

How many perk points for picking up bailers out of the drink to keep them from taking a death?

I'm not sure about that whole "rescue" idea.  It might be sort of fun to rescue sqauddies out of the drink, but all I can think about is the 13 year olds yelling over channel for someone to pick them up.
