Good buy?
« on: September 27, 2010, 06:05:28 PM »
Needed a laptop for school, and this is right around the top of my budget. Wanted to be able to do some gaming on it if I was to ever go out of town etc etc

So good buy? Say buy it?

The 5145 is not a bad VC, kinda middle of the road.  Should be fine for on the road mind numbing, time wasting games. 800 bucks is a cut throat market anymore, hard to pick a good, better, best in this price range.  Overall, not a bad lookin laptop though.

Just a heads up, when I got my Asus they told me its Win 7 compatable, then when I got Win 7 it messed up my power options and so forth.  So make sure double check.  I love my laptop, its very good, and got a great deal on it.  But I have had quite a few problems.

Good laptop but I still don't like touching games on them. Should run decently however,.

Better VC but older processor and smaller HD.  Tough call.

Although still 4 cores, do you want to lose the .4 Ghz off the processor in exchange for the slightly better VC. And pay more for it?

I like the i5

Only down side is the hard drive, however you can replace it with a 7200 if you wish.
