well i just realized i totaly screwed up the math. It would closer to about 7.5 seconds of freefall because  T = D/R    I multiplied instead of dividing the first time 

So 145mph/0.3030 miles = 0.00208965517 hours, 0.1253793102 minutes, and 7.522758612 seconds

If i'm still wrong someone please tell me.

You are assuming constant top speed over the whole distance. But the falling body has to accelerate first, reaching top speed after about 7 seconds

I used to jump from 13,000 feet.     43 seconds is way to long for 1600. Ill do the math then get back to you.

 Why dont they just mount the antennae on an elevator of sorts and lower it to work on it?

Also you have understand how a transmission tower works. In the video did you see those large pipes that look like water lines? The signal bounces around inside those pipes and it does that all the way up to the antenna. You can't simply lower the antenna like you would think.

A little over a year ago I got to watch a tower crew install the brand new antenna for our TV station. It was quite an experience watching these guys hoist an antenna that's mostly made of glass and weighs almost 1000lbs up 400 feet to attach it to the tower.

Working in TV I have nothing but respect for these guys.

I know some microwave feedhorns use waveguides instead of ultra low loss coax, would of thought UHF television broadcast antennas would use 7/8" low loss coaxial cable. Wouldnt expect them to use waveguides also
