Just bumping this wish :)

It was and still is a great aircraft and we could really do with this craft in game
It would do great in the MA and would open up opportunities for FSO

So after the B29 can we please have this :)

So... You want a plane so inadequate they couldn't even get a single kill?

So inadequate that it was relegated to carrying 50lb smoke bombs to mark ground targets for OTHER (US-made) planes to bomb?

It's a glorrified infantry strafer.

Even the Aussie test pilot (and ace) said the name was a misnomer, because anybody going into combat with one would NOT be returning home.

Click me

2 of the 3 squadrons were homeland defense (no action), and one was tasked to one of the islands. They were able to drive off the Japanese craft, but due to their speed were never able to actually engage the enemy.

With nothing else they COULD do the majority of their war participation was strafing ground units to aid friendly army forces.

Hardly really worth it. I'm all for patriotism and the like, but as far as WW2 and this game goes, the Boomerang is a non-entity.

Between 1942 and 1945 only 240 or so were made. Most of these were probably trainers, because in 1943 the many US made models filled the role of "Fighter" for the Aussie Air Force.

the HOR on the side pretty much sums up what the pilots of this plane would become in-game.

And you wanted a Betty?, a B5N? a Brewster? (which is so overmodeled)

there are a lot of "useless" fighters in this game. But the aircraft in WW2 did not HAVE to fight, all the Zeroes and such would be making slashing attacks. The boomerang was never exposed to the Brewster or the Hurricane in combat, and didnt operate of carriers or anything so it didnt encounter Val's or Betty's.

But if modeled in AH it WOULD. and I think it would be a FUN fighter. Besides the patriotism factor makes it famous in itself. It is the only Aussie designed, built and flown combat aircraft in history. And as a good chunk of the player base, either this or the Beau fighter would be a great addition.

There are many aircraft and GVs in AH2 that did not have a significant hit in WW2, and some I dont think the P-39 (I know it scored a few but was mainly a ground pounder), nor the Brewster scored many kills in WW2. Yet we have them, the Brewster because it was significant in a HISTORICAL respect, and its model was a surprise to many when it was added.

So ADD THE BOOMERANG

it could possably be put in, but its deff not a priority. it has no scenario missions to it (like the betty,b5n) and i dont think it has any actual kills to its record(like the brew does). sure it would be FUN to fly in the da or furballing where you and me like to hang out pac, but what good would it be in the MA? gotta face it buddy, in this game the MA's come before everything else. and can you imagine what would happen if it WAS put in? all the brewster pilots would switch to this. you'd just be giving them a new brewster with cannons to HO more effectively.

You do realize that, while Aussie built, it was based on the US trainer "Harvard" design?

That's why the development timing was so speedy... The design was proven by US builders years back. Only real difference was it had guns and a gunsight. Harvard didn't. Other than that, slightly redesigned fuselage, but overall its lineage is plain to see.

Wrong it wasn't.

It was designed to use the Jigs of construction for the harvard while also utilizing other surplus equipment the Aussies had.

Yes, parts from the CAC Whiraway... which was an Aussie clone of the Na-16.

P.S. Using the jigs for a Harvard to build a plane gets you.... wait for it!.... a Harvard!

You can't really use the jigs from a P-51 wing to make a wing for a P-47, if you see what I mean?
