+ Eleventy Trillion. ZOMFGLOLZ!

This will get flown and will likely do pretty well.  To say that Boomerangs will HO everybody is silly; the thing looks like it will outturn a frisbee.  No need to HO when you can line up a nice tracking shot.  All the aircraft in this game have HO-ed me at one time or another (even a Ju-88  :lol), but it usually isn't the turny birds doing it.  N1K and Hurri IIC excepted of course.

And you wanted a Betty?, a B5N? a Brewster? (which is so overmodeled)

there are a lot of "useless" fighters in this game. But the aircraft in WW2 did not HAVE to fight, all the Zeroes and such would be making slashing attacks. The boomerang was never exposed to the Brewster or the Hurricane in combat, and didnt operate of carriers or anything so it didnt encounter Val's or Betty's.

But if modeled in AH it WOULD. and I think it would be a FUN fighter. Besides the patriotism factor makes it famous in itself. It is the only Aussie designed, built and flown combat aircraft in history. And as a good chunk of the player base, either this or the Beau fighter would be a great addition.

There are many aircraft and GVs in AH2 that did not have a significant hit in WW2, and some I dont think the P-39 (I know it scored a few but was mainly a ground pounder), nor the Brewster scored many kills in WW2. Yet we have them, the Brewster because it was significant in a HISTORICAL respect, and its model was a surprise to many when it was added.

So ADD THE BOOMERANG

It would be fun :) that's why i'm asking for it

and FYI I didn't wish for any of those

There are Scenarios to it!! New Guinea is the main one, andhow about one called "Defence of Australia" with Boomerangs and P-40's, and how about one group of them flying out of Port Moresby to the battle of Coral Sea. the list is endless!!

did they actually ENGAGE enemy forces at the coral sea? did any boomerang squadren have a respectable amount of confirmed kills?

i dont mean to kill your plane request pac, im trying to push for the focke helicopter to be put in (lol) but im just being realistic. it wouldnt be fun to have a scenario where they fly out to the coral sea, but dont get any action

I see this little guy being a good base defender and it would be the only plane in the game dropping smoke. Most importantly, it adds another country's plane.

"No. 4 Squadron and No. 5 Squadron flew Boomerangs in New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Borneo in the close support role with marked success. Tasks included bombing, strafing, close infantry support and artillery spotting. When attacking larger enemy formations Boomerangs often operated in conjunction with heavier aircraft. In this role the Boomerang would get in close to confirm the identity of the target and mark it with a 20 lb (9 kg) smoke bomb with the heavier aircraft delivering the major ordnance from a safer distance. The partnership between 4 and 5 Squadron Boomerangs and RNZAF Corsair fighter-bombers was said to be particularly effective."

"With good range, heavy armament, and excellent low-level handling characteristics, the aircraft could avoid ground fire in even rough terrain and still inflict heavy damage. The extensive armour plating protected the pilot, the aircraft\'s simple wood and aluminum airframe capable of absorbing a great deal of battle damage, the ability to drop target-marking smoke bombs for other attack forces, plus two cannons and four machine guns, made for a very effective low-level combat aircraft. Flying in pairs, Boomerang tasks included bombing, strafing, close infantry support and artillery spotting "

Look at it this way!

Country        Population<Mil>     World Rank                Builder       Plane

Australia      21.9      65      Australia      CAC Boomerang  <249 built>

Romania      21.4      73      Romania      IAR 80/81

France      61.8      28      France      D.520                MS-406   MB.150

Czechoslovakia               Czechoslovakia   Avia B.135

Finland                 5.1              120                USA                Finnish Brewster  <44? recieved>

It was a 110C.  I'm guessing you had similar success in your attack.   ;)

I love ya Pacman, but what???

Look at what the Russians did with the P-39 and the Finns with the Brewster......... :huh

That being said,

So ADD THE BOOMERANG

I agree X eleventy billion!

This is a game. Almost NONE of the aircraft in this game are used in the same manner that they were historically the majority of the time. If it saw combat in any capacity and flew in squadron strength it deserves consideration under the guidelines.

We have..

the Brewster B-239 - a model that only saw about 44 delivered and scored fairly little. The P-39, which was rejected by most as a dogfighter (though some pilots scored many successes). The I-16, useless cannon fodder completely outclassed by the 109's, P51s and Spits we see in MA. We have the Wirble and TA-152s, of which both only saw ridiculously small service and production. I dont think the TA-152 scored a kill. And the Spit 16 one of the most used AC in AH2, got about 5 or 6 kills before the end of ww2.

Sooooo. an aircraft that was built in the range of 240 airframes, with cannon and MG, and is the only fighter aircraft solely built and designed in that country, WHICH made a significant contribution in the Pacific war and has been requested by players for a long duration. And a significant chunk of the playerbase hails from the country in question. And remains in a unique spot in history. Is not to be added?

I think it needs to be added soon. The Beaufighter was outvoted by the ME-410, and yet its been requested so many more times than the 410. It seems a bit injust that we have sooooo many planes from so many nations, even Finland, Romania and Italy, which had just a big an impact as Australia have their aircraft in game.

We want ours too!

can you provide actual proof that it scored more than 1 kill? just showing up to a battle doesnt give it a right to be added.
