Text buffer font size
« on: September 30, 2010, 11:47:17 AM »
The text buffer font size is dynamically calculated.  However, there is a deficiency in the current implementation having to do with the aspect ratio of the monitor.  It is on the list of things to correct in the game.

Has that been fixed since then?  Any conf settings for this?

I changed the monitor (and res) and now buffer text is huge and pixelated. Also the text bar covers over half the width and goes over the instruments in the cockpit.

Changed from CRT 1600x1200 to LCD 1920x1200 (native)

I'd appreciate any tips given...

I tried all the way down to 1440 x 900 where text buffer font looks almost normal.
All other resolutions above that (including 1920x1080) are pretty much the same as far as buffer text goes. Difference in size is minimal, very pixelated and if not in monitor aspect ratio (mine is 16:10), also skewed.

Hooked up over DVI-D.

Personally that is one of the reasons I prefer not to run my monitor at native settings.

Native for mine is 1920x 1080, and frankly I don't like to fly with my screen res set that high.
I'm running 1280x720 both windows and AH.  Frankly the only real difference quality wise that I can see is my screen shots don't look as good.
