« on: September 30, 2010, 02:55:18 PM »
Why not include a troop/cargo  plane for the axis side such as the JU-52? C-47 shouldnt be the only one.......

I'd be happy with something made from corrugated roofing sporting 3 engines and a mind blowing top speed in the 160mph range.
To each their pwn.

The problem is, what's the purpose?

Transport planes are of limited usefulness in Special Events (in FSO base capture has been VERY rarely implemented, and is generally a GV-only affair in which aircraft are not allowed to participate). MAYBE they would get some use in the AvA, but it's not like people are breaking in the doors to get in there.

In the Mains the Ju-52 would be even MORE vulnerable than the C-47. She was slower, and the gun would be of virtually no use whatsoever (it's a single 7.7mm. Ask B5N pilots how much of a deterrent that is).

This puts other transport aircraft about as low on the priority scale as you can go, ranking only a few percentage points above the P-63....
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

so the Ju-52's priority is around 90-93%?

Considering the P-63 has no business being in the game, I highly doubt that.

why do you say that? it saw service, was built in high numbers as well.

Not a debate for this thread, but it saw MAYBE one week of combat, and the reliability of THAT has been called into question.

Don't let miniscule details about WW2 aviation history get in the way of adding some very tasty planes to AH.
