Plane Perks. For version 1.04, we will be introducing a new system to AH that will allow players to earn the right to fly certain late-war high performance aircraft that we otherwise would not put in the game due to balance issues. Every plane will have a cost and score multiplier associated with it. While the normal arena plane set will cost nothing, special planes will have a price required to fly them. If you lose one of these planes, you will lose the points you spent on it. The score multiplier will effect how you accumulate points based on the plane that flying vs. the plane you shoot down. If you shoot down a Hurricane with a Ta 152, you will not earn much because that is expected. However, if you shoot down a Ta 152 with a Hurricane, you earn a lot a points. We will be talking more about the implementation of this system as we get closer to it.
I have some serious concerns about this. Most of them are voiced by myself and others in this thread:
http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/Forum1/HTML/003340.html Since this is, in fact, an unfortunate reality, I have a question of utmost importence.
WHY???
This is bad. This will create a major runstang mentality. I can already tell you that if I manage to make it to these "uber rides" (take MASSIVE amounts of luck for me I think) that I will run like hell screaming for mommy the whole way if I end up in a disadvantaged position.
Now for the more mundane questions.
We noticed that killshooter was turned OFF in the MA the other night. What is to stop a countryman from killing someone in an uberplane to get the massive points for killing a Ta152 with a tiffie? Will we loose our hard earned rides to a jealous, greedy country man if killshooter remains off?
What planes in the current set, if any, are going to be affected by this when it's implemented? Or does this only apply to future birds that will come, like ones that dinnae combat or saw very limited combat at the very end of the war?
