The Dueling Arena
« on: October 03, 2010, 11:50:55 AM »
If you are ever in a rut where you log into an MA, stare at the map for 5 minutes in the tower, and just cant seem to get into it, I recommend you goto the DA for a change. Its more than just a furball. Heres what I like about it.

1. Its quick.  Not alot of transit time.

2. Meet alot of good people you normally dont get to fly or chat with.

3. Unperked planes, take what you want no cost.

4. Never seems to have much of a down time. Always someone on. Allows different tactics. With 10 people in you can fly more 1 on 1 type stuff, with 50 on you can have alot of fun practicing SA trying to survive.

5. Learning from others. Lastnight Batfink and madda had a little 1 on 1 setup going off to the side. I hardly ever use the 109K because Ive never learned how to fly it. They gave me alot of pointers with it I wasnt aware of.There..another plane to mess around with.

    Give it a shot.

amen filth, the DA is where the cool kids go to play when the MA is too quiet!!

always fun fighting you in there, I definitely died less flying 109ks than last time month when we did a some p40e.

And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

It can definitely be a great change of pace.  Really, you can learn more in there than you can in months in the MA.  Had a great time mixing it up with you guys last night, great fights!

I agree. It has turned into a fun place and there are a bunch of great ppl in there. I know some will say that they are all just a bunch of tards picking in their tempests but that is just over generalizing and those that say and believe those things are missing out. I would like to see an ENY system implemented for the sake of balance and externals disabled but I understand why it is the way it is.

Fun lately seems to be inversely proportional to numbers of players and directly proportional to the availability of GV's.

AvA is a great fight with only 10 guys because everyone is flying. DA is always fun with 5 or 50 guys.

300+ in a main arena and you have to search for an aerial fight and once you find one it quickly dies.

We log on to the main for a sortie or two, get bored trying to find a fight and move to the DA.

Thats pretty much where Im at Dawger. Why fly 1-1.5 sectors when you can dive off a 5k base and be at the fight again in no time.

Pickers are good in the DA, it helps me work on me SA and deffensive manuvers, also learning how to deal with 1v1's 2v1's and like last night 7v1's (no joke, i didnt last very long though haha) and as for the HO'ing some times you get the odd inconvienient HO, but if it really gets that bad, I just grab a 110 and go on a HO' spree, its my favorite place to go when im not in the MA, and everyone is pretty friendly in there, I like the free perk planes and find that I now know how to fights against them better in the MA

Late at night in the DA is fun. The kids have all gone to bed, and its usually a small group of people who I've seen there a lot recently who are good sticks, such as Agent Nrshida, & eAce.

I don't mind flying 2 sectors for a fight but all that you can find are 2 guys who won't come out the ack after you fly 30 minutes.

Recently I have found some small sport in attempting to get them in their protective ack umbrella without dying.  I've been finding some luck if I do my approach correctly.

If you think you are having a 1v1 in the Main Arena, your SA has failed you.
