Im going to email/call Skuzzy to petition for a WW1 arena Thread here in the forums. I think it would be useful considering we have an AvA thread.

I know that theres a date dutch but the hope is it'll get it started again. last new ideas that HTC came up with that were any good to me were ww1 arena and the I-16. So far im the only one keeping the spirit of I-16 dweebery alive , and a few others are keeping kite dweebery alive.
the 20th actually did a "clown car raid" day. we flew I-16s, deathstar replicas, and A20s in force :D

Great to see a decent number in attendance, seemed like everyone had fun. I strongly suspect that with a more historical aspect, including but not restricted to

1. a two country system, i.e. Allied and Central each flying only historically correct a/c
2. dar linked to observation balloons, which can be attacked (and defended)
3. small bombs made available and some stuff to use them on, or at least the ability to straffe a/c on the field (field ack wound back)

..... we would see numbers like that more often. It was good fun anyway, but could be so much better with just a few small changes.

Twas fun.  Well, not too much fun, but fun none the less.

Some of us not used to the aircraft died more to wing snaps and engine issues than to enemy pilots.  I found it amazing that a bi-plane can actually fly pretty good without the top wing.  And the visibility is 100% better.
