Odd Incident with PonyD
« on: October 19, 2010, 01:01:41 PM »
Unfortunely I did not have it recorded nor did the guy I was fighting (Defiantial or however spelled). I did quick snap roll and was in a dive for maybe second and did not have very much speed; just under 300 and next thing I know, my wing ripped off. I don't know if it was a possible bug due to the new patch coming out or just one of those sorties that bad luck is your co-pilot. Either way, I thought I would mention about it so it could be looked into, just in case. Thank you in advance  :salute

Something very similar happened to me in the DA yesterday. I was going 400 in a ponyD and all of a sudden my left wing pops off, and I didn't pull any Gs. When I bailed no one got the kill.  Maybe they are putting the wings on with tape?

I think it might be some Higher power saying, "Rogent, Don't be such a Pony dweeb."

That must be the answer   :airplane:
Had it happen again yesterday; I was on the deck by couple of hundred feet, cruising about 295-300; Straight flight and next thing I know, pop! there goes my left wing. I was able to bail out with chute out in time not to meatbomb. I looked around because it said 'sonso has shot you down' but no one was there. I sent him PM asking had he hit me with a Ship Gun (I was well out of icon range the cruisers) and he said he had not.

When I lose a wing, its almost always the left. Is that the case for you guys? The circumstances make it difficult to pin down. I have had it pulling up off a target with no one within firing range, pulling up from a bomber pass from angles where it would be very hard for a gunner to hit (straight above) with no collision. Each one has seemed odd but I can't absolutely rule out that there wasn't another factor.

Perhaps we can collect data here.
