New ThrustBlaster WW1 joystick
« on: October 20, 2010, 06:28:30 AM »
Rule the skies over the Somme with the Red Baron Vintage Edition combat stick.

ThrustBlaster are proud to present our latest World War 1 combat joystick - the Red Baron Vintage Edition. Commissioned specially for Aces High WW1 pilots, the Red Baron Vintage Edition comes packed with all the features of the original and now famous floor mounted Red Baron combat stick, plus we've added full HOTAS capability. Today's virtual WW1 aviators require quick easy access to a host of controls and functions - mate the Red Baron Vintage Edition combat stick with our Red Baron Throttle Module and you have a total of 4 fully programmable switches placed right where you need them, for when you can't do without them.

Each switch comes pre-programmed for the Aces High WW1 arena - you get a blip switch, a firing button, our patented Flight Manoeuvre Macro button (specially for Dr1 pilots - one press of the button and the software takes control executing a series of floating tumbling aerobatics guaranteed to either throw the enemy off your tail or put him right in your line of fire) and a Macro Text Salute: "<SALUTE> GF Sir sorry about the ram" (alternatively you can program the Macro text button with your own salutation or whine).

The ThrustBlaster Red Baron Vintage Edition :

Realistic floor mounted control stick modelled on actual WW1 control system
Military Spec 10 step potentiometers
Firing button
Blip switch
Patented Flight Manoeuvre Macro Button
Macro Text Salute button
Bonus pair of genuine faux leather WW1 aviator gloves
Bonus aviator goggles with safety plastic lenses

The Red Baron Vintage Edition combat stick and the Red Baron Throttle Module. $224.50 RRP each (sold seperately) coming soon to a retail outlet near you.

That's such a rip-off. You have to buy the bungee cord auto pilot accessory pack separately. For what they're charging it should be included.

OMG how cool.  I don't believe it.  Now I know its true.  My dad said he had one of the originals.  I went out into the shed and damn if he was not right.  I needs some cleaning up and oiled to help keep the rust off it but what a find.  I also found the strait handled Sopwith Pup flight stick.  Can't wait to try them out.  Now if I can just find some usb connectors to fit them.

Pilot Testimonials

"I'm not sure if the traces of blood and vomit are fake or an artifact of the sweat shop conditions in the third world country where they make these things, but it sure does add to the realism!"
Buzz, 47 y.o. DVII pilot, Texas USA

"I installed the Red Baron Vintage Edition combat stick in my home built simpit in our lounge and was instantly blown away! My wife threw a hot coffee over me yesterday and I actually thought I was on fire! I'd half-climbed over the fuselage side and was preparing to jump when I realised I was blocking my wife's view of the TV and she was approaching me with a kitchen knife LOL".
Daniel, 24 y.o. Camel pilot, Ontario Canada

"I haven't worked out all the buttons and features yet but this stick rox dewd. My kill/death ratio has gone from 3.5 to 7 overnight, and I think if I keep playing this game for another week I'll make 10"
Nigel, 13 y.o. Dr1 pilot, Phoenix Arizona

"I needed a complete control hardware solution so I bought the Red Baron Vintage Edition combat stick and the Red Baron Throttle Module. I like the way the throttle just clips on the stick wherever you want it, like a bicycle handbrake lever.... and the buttons, putting them all on a seperate piece of cardboard that you hang over your monitor.... genius!.... plus I can use the stick to plant potatoes in the garden!!"
Patrick, 32 y.o. F2b pilot, Belfast Ireland

Warning:Use of this stick may result in arthritis.I used one for edging beds for 10+ years during my landscaping years. After literally miles of edges cut,I have arthritis in the big toe of my right foot(please no pics. of that nasty infected toe). However,I like the fact that it is a multi-tasker and might hold up to dweeb rage tantrums that occur as a result of being ho'd. :D

But wait there's more. Don't forget the stick doubles as a "wife-ack" stopper. It's guaranteed at some point your wife, girlfriend whatever, will do the blah. blah. blah thing while you try to fly.
When you get to "The Point", One correctly placed swing of the stick is guaranteed to immediately put a halt to the blabber, when used in "Silencer" mode.It has been thoroughly tested using our "In-House" other halfs, and we are soo happy to tell you how well this works.
So, when you get sick and tired of the incessant yada, yada,

Fight Back-Take a whack!
(Please remember to use enclosed goggles to protect yourself from splatter,
when using stick in "Silencer" mode).

But what do you get if you order in the next 10 minutes?

....your choice of either a 1:32 scale replica of the Red Baron's Fokker Dr1 (with display stand) or a crashed Sopwith Camel complete with dead pilot figurine.
