after about an hour of nearly non-stop fights in the AvA, i notice no bar dar. no problem. i fly(with oxman winging with me) across the river. i thought possibly that if they weren't upping, one of two things happened.
A) they ran out of airplanes(highly unlikely in this cartoon world)
2) they got tired of trying to compete with the mighty lockheed peee38J lightning. (very likely in this cartoon world)
they must want to make friends, so we stop ventilating their airplanes.
anyway.....ox and i overfly the base. cool!! no ack. we descend to land, and are caught off guard, as the entire base opens up at us. DAM!! ok ox.....lets take the guns out. we proceed to deack, as these obviously drunk germans try to shoot us.
some of em looked to be in their skivvies, so i think we may have interrupted them doing the wild thing.....aaaaaaWHOOPS!
base deacked, and i tried to sucke......eerrr...convince oxman to go ahead and land. he aint hearing none of it. "i don;t trust em" he yells into his mic. they'll throw their dirty unwashed sex toys at us, and sic the sheep on us. no way no how!! he continues.
dagnabit!!! "ya sissy!!" i yell back, and i set up for a landing. short final, gear down(against sapp regs, but i;m on a mission here) flaps out....going a little fast, so i do a forward slip to bleed some speed just before touchdown.
so far so good....nothing shooting, no strap ons flying through the air.....they must still be in use......
i get stopped, and being unfamiliar with the german base layout(looks like it was designed by an engineer that has never flown), i accidentally taxied onto the grass.
oops!! small tires, they won;t mess it up too bad.....
as i'm taxieng, i hear a radial engine.....CRAP!! there's a focke wulf on the runway!! maybe if i hold still, and duck low in the cockpit, he won't see me....
i hear hi throttle up. good, he didn't see me. i roll over to the re-arm station for gas, and ammo. i park, and set the brake, but leave the engines running. allisons are stubborn sometimes when they're hot.
opening the canopy, i yell "acthung!! acthung!! ve need gaas!! comenzeheer und feel up ze aeroplane!! i thought sure they would understandthat.
after a few minutes no one came. i yelled again, and nothing. DAM!! they don't wanna be friends. i better get my skinny but outta here!!!
i throttled up and yelled at them as they looked on "ze volksvagen is ze silly car!!"
i friggin love the ava. oldman was the fw......oxman sounded like he was laughing his bellybutton off.
