What kind of graphics you running?

I've actually noticed that this game takes a lot more CPU than I would have previously thought.  My card is never really working that hard, but my CPU seems to be going full steam.

i find the game runs really well with the I7 processor. you can also alt-tab in and out of the game very quickly too. with the game running I'm only using 5% CPU and 2 gigs of ram.

I7 2.66ghz
6gigs of ram
1 Tb raid 0

Yup, the I7 seems to run this game (and many others) better than I've ever seen!!

I just upgraded mine about a month or so ago.

I only sprung for the 930 2.88ghz. But I think its gonna be more than sufficient for my meager gameplay requirements.

I added an ATI 5870 and 12 gigs of memory (a little future proofing)

All combined, I can totally understand the OPs wonderment at the look and gameplay with his new system.

That's because 32 bit applications are restricted to 2 Gb of RAM by Windows.

How many Gig does the game use in 64 bit? I have win 7 64 in the box waiting to upgrade PC and was wondering.

Unless you do professional video editing it's unlikely any application you use will be 64 bits including AH therefore, none will use more than 2 Gb.

The only thing more RAM does for you is let you have more applications open at the same time but you wouldn't want to do that while playing anyway because there would also be the extra load on the CPU.

A few months ago I upgraded to an i5. Only problem I found was when running AH the integrated GPX chip wasn't enough to run the game perfectly. I was seeing all other A/C and the stars in the sky as little boxes until I closed to about D1000. Added a Radeon 512Mb card and that solved the problem.
Now the game runs silk smooth with all the eye candy turned on.

Two days ago I simply upgraded my mother board, a new vid card, and power supply from 240W to 450W (new power supply needed for new MB) and I am able to run maxed out graphics without a bit of frame rate loss.

AH is almost an entire new game.  I too say "WOW!"     HTC did a great job and I hope they continue to improve the eye candy.  Now... about the gaps in the plane set.
