Please make it so Ports and not CV's Count Towards a War Win
« on: October 25, 2010, 11:48:21 AM »
Dear HTC,

Please make it so only ports and not their accompanying CV's count towards a base capture.  Thanks in advance for your consideration.

now the zones have gone, ports are the only bases with real strategic value. the port/CV 2fer adds to their strategic importance.

plus it wont really make any difference to CV hiding (if thats what inspired this.) the major reason for hiding is denial of capability, not the extra base counting towards the win.

First off, much respect Holmes!  Second how do you figure that it's denial of capability over base gain?  I obviously have no real data to support either way.  Do you?

well CVs arent a very big % of bases on most maps, and how often do map resets actually happen? they are however very effective tactically for attack or defence, and are used that way regularly.

put it this way (I'm pulling numbers out the air here, but the scale is about right) - hidden CVs are crucial for a map reset every week or so, but active CVs are crucial for a base take/defence every hour. therefore denial of capability is the overwhelming factor.

I think it will help  to avoid hiding cv's.  they have no value so use them or well they dont count.

We're partially there already.  A CV group can't be the very last base to put a country over the 40% for the reset.  They still have to take one more.
