Squad Jousting
« on: October 29, 2010, 02:37:11 PM »
Thanks to the direction that the Axis versus Allies Staff has been taking, the arena has become more and more squadron friendly.  Most recently, they have created a site for more insider information and calendar of events.

With a click of the mouse, you can catch a glimpse of scheduled setups.  Click on any particular setup/date and it will show you the events runtime (open 24 hrs - 7 days a week .. better than Starbucks  :D ).

Click the button for more information and the event particulars, models enabled and historical relevance is at your finger tips to help convince your rivals to a showdown at the "AvA Corral".  Heck, you might even convince the Oldman himself to bring out the old six shooter Gunfighters and AvA regulars to challenge your pride and joy squad mates.

Click HERE for more information.  It is just that easy.

   I visited the site and was blown away by the Calendar section!!   :rock http://avaarena.webs.com/apps/calendar/

Squads, please take a look at this.  Of course squads are welcome at anytime, but now you can plan your squad events to include some really popular and fun AvA setups.

Way to go AvA Staff  :aok  Jimson, when I see you sir, the first round is on me (and I mean top shelf).

Just in case some of you still haven't gotten the news about regular prime time action in the AvA, please check out some of the AARs (after action reports) posted by Cap1  http://avaarena.webs.com/apps/blog/entries/show/4947900-cap1-on-patrol-part-1

Quote
"He turns, and I see a chance!! He misjudged my intent, and flew directly through my sights.

I fire off a quick burst, but miss. Suddenly, he seems to stop in midair, and pirouette his aircraft, and he is suddenly bearing down on me.  In a moment of panic, I chop the throttles to idle, pull for all i'm worth on the control yoke, all the while watching him through the top of my canopy, expecting to see the muzzle flash from his cannons any second.

Got the nose around, firewall the throttles, as he screams past me, missing me by mere feet........."
  Just a small snip.

Jaeger has since successfully held several challenge events.  The reviews have been cheerful and positive.  Please check the http://avaarena.webs.com/ link out.  Sign up for weekly emails to alert you to challenges that everyone is welcome to participate in.  Also, the Calendar of Events is looking pretty enticing.  Make ya wanna smack ya Pappy  :old:

Commanding Officers,

This is your arena also!  Have an idea, and want to test it out with your squadees spear heading a challenge?  Keep in touch with what is going on in the Axis Versus Allies Arena, running 24 hours every day.

Currently, we are running the Battle of Britain map, featuring one of the most evenly fighter matchups ever.  Simply, visit the http://avaarena.webs.com/ website and view what maps and plane sets are scheduled.  Register for weekly emails if you are like me and can use a reminder. :old:

By all means, if you think that your squad has an idea that would make for a fun event, post some details in the http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/board,44.0.html forums.

Help us make this a part of your squad night or practice your situation awareness, flying in the only 24 hour arena where no one see enemy icons in the air.
