Defiance last time i subscribed to Demon you dont need the disc.
Just bell them, give payment details over phone and 30 minutes later once account is activated your all set and online.
You will need to ask them for your login and password and enter it manually at first log on.
Of course this assumes your happy setting up a new dial up and email account on your computer manually.
The reference to Nildram being crap above is somewhat misleading as they are currently changing there Linx peering and preparing to bring a new 155 mb pipe online hopefully within the week.

Hi guys.
I have beem using Tiscali anytime for about 2 months now. It may not be fastest ping but mostly there is no data loss & its very stable.
Data loss is the real killer with gaming as long as ping time is reasonable flying will be good but if u have data loss u will have problems.
BT has got to be the worst connect I ever had. When I tried BT I had another 4 ips on the go at the same time for testing against. There ping times & data loss were by far the worst. The only good thing about them was they were the easiest to cancel. (Some of them are a pain to cancel. Freeserve was especialy hard to cancel.)
The fastest I have found was Gateway. Which I use on ISDN for events & if I cant get a good connect, sometimes at peak times.
I think alot depends on where you are as I had a friend in wales that was using BT anytime & said it was realy good. If I get bad connect with tiscali & try Gateway you will quite often see that the route to HTC is different. Most problems I see are where the route crosses the pond.
As for ADSL I will be connecting in a few weeks. I was on several mailing list to be told when it was available. Never recieved one mail saying it was but its been availble for several weeks so I would just check now & then with one of the number checkers the IPs have.

My BT pings great to AH with no PL and it doesn't use "sprintlink" when it hits the USA
Airbull i would kill for ADSL  lol

As for ISDN i call several friends and fiancee on their mobiles so my bills sky-high anyways and extra net time on ISDN would really pee me off
If BT kept my service as good as my first year with them i would'nt mind paying a lot more but as they have messed me around so much i begrudge giving them anymore "extra" monies

Now if she would step in and somehow wangle the "welsh agency" (who are pumping 18 million into welsh schools/colleges for broadband) to get prestatyn high onto adsl i am sure BT would quickly sort adsl out here
