Question about configuring Vox on a Windows 7 64bit OS.
« on: October 30, 2010, 03:15:44 PM »
I'm just trying to get setup up for the first time in AH.  I just built my computer, loaded it with the Windows 7 64 bit OS.  I've hooked up an inexpensive Logictech headset to my computer.  I am able to hear sounds from the headset and have recorded some speech from it using the "Sound Recorder" from the Windows, All Programs/Accessories menu.  The file was not saved as a .wav file.   I navigated to the sound file and check the properties and it does not show any extension, just the filename.

I have gone to the Arena, opened the radio and selected the V channel.  Then I pressed the F12 button and spoke in my microphone.  I did not hear my message repeat.  When I type a message and press return, I see my message twice, one on the way out and one on the way in.

I must be doing something wrong.  Since I am able to record from Windows, I think the headset is configured properly.  On the other hand, no sound in the game.

Please help

Thanks,
Eric

Thanks for the quick response Wizer.  I tried that but all that happens is that I get TTTTTTTTTTTTTTT in the message buffer.

Hey Scotch, that did the trick.  I noticed that I really need to speak loudly into the mic to send a good message.  What should I adjust in AH to pick up my voice better.  I can't start yelling into the mic when everyone is sleeping   Thanks !!
