i think there's a bunch of us that have to thank jaeger1. the guy(along with the help of his staff) is kicking some serious bellybutton in making the AvA arena the premier(in my humble opinion) place to fly.
they recently loaded up the okinawa(i think) terrain. i've never flown that one before. as per usual, it's a small map. logged in at about 9pm eastern, and launched the ole peee38 o doom.
what do i find? message of the day states gusting wind, and 5 mile visibility. what i found was visibility that looked just like haze in real life....about 5 miles. gusts caught me a couple of times.
after a quick sortie in the ole 38 o doom.......
the call goes out from usranger wondering why 12 allies, and 5 axis.
i bailed, and along with jvnotch, and imadot, switched to even up sides. flew a zeek(eeeewwwwww) for a couple of flights, then tried out the ki-61.....(EEEWWWWWWWWW)
had a couple of VERY nice fights in the 61.
something i discovered about the ki-61 though. someone stole the control sticks and rudder pedals!!!!
how the hell am i supposed to fight?? that lack of control stick created this situation(that and my stupidity
)
see how i managed to surround them? i had to stick my arms out the window to turn the dam thing!!
i got skeerd, and forgot to stick my arms out, and that sent me hurtling towards the sea, with my three tormentors in pursuit.
i think they were mad at me, one went right by me, and sunk himself.....dunno what happened to the other, but this guy must've been good friends with jaeger1, as he was giving me an official "jaeger1" type of escort.......you may also notice that more things fell off of this cheap pos. sheesh!!
i flew for about 2 hours. at one point, it was up to 25 pile-its while iw as there, but i had to log out around 11'ish.
constant fights from about 5k alt down to the wavetops.....no bs on open, or 200. just pure unadulterated fun!!
