History Channels new shows?
« on: November 01, 2010, 06:08:59 PM »
So the history channel as many can tell has undergone a large change in recent times.

When I was younger and watched this channel all the time it had documentaries. Recently they have been adding shows that to me are far from history. Ice road truckers wth is that? Top Shot?

The 3 recent shows they have added have some redeeming quality's Pawn stars,American pickers, and American restoration.

Oh almost forgot whats up with the alien shows? Any thoughts?

History Channel has apparently decided that they no longer sell history. I think they're owned by MTV, who also doesn't air shows having to do with their name.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Lately it been like if SyFI, Discovery, and MTV had a mutant love child and they named it History Channel.

Lots of cable channels are deviating from their main purpose lately...

For example:

- MTV (the main channel) is no longer showing music videos... more Snooky and The Situation FTW!
- TLC is no longer The Learning Channel
- Cartoon network showing live action movies and sitcoms (Save by The Bell)
- Fox news and msnbc are more theatrics and commentary of current events, not news.
- SyFy features WWE Smackdown!

They will also soon be airing Top Gear US which will be watched.  It will probably be the first thing I've watched on that channel in I don't know how long.

The history channel has nothing to do with history anymore. It ison the much lower level like mtv.

Nothing but non-reality shows.

These three shows have quickly become the only redeeming qualities of Mondays.
