In fact........ And it may have been an acid flashback but I'd swear there was a mention of B29 in the same sentence as "perked planes" on the homepage.  However without any conclusive proof, I am chalking it up to flashback.

I'm not sure it was even used in that role at war's end. The only night-fighting 410s I've heard of were the intruders of KG 51, who were also sometimes used in a Wilde Sau role in mid-'44.

From about August '44 (I think), KG 51 transitioned to 190s, then to 262s.

I think the 410s stayed in recce and Air-Sea Rescue units for the duration, but apart from one (apparent) incident which I've not been able to clarify, I don't think they shot at much past autumn 1944.

 Yes Scherf I think you pretty much nailed it,and there were very few even in the recce and rescue.  All engine production had been transfered to single eng.airframes and spare were difficult if not impossible at this point.

You're probably going to have just as much success killing bombers with the 50mm cannon as the Me 410 pilots had in real life.

Ok.  Funny you should bring this up.  Back in Highschool we needed an original song to be eligible for the High School Battle of the Bands (1983).  So the guitarist and myself sat down and figured something out quickly (since we werent acustomed to writing our own originals).
