The Russians defeated Hitlers Germany. The rest of us just helped. The Americans, and to a slightly lessor extent the british commonwealth, defeated the Japanese militarily. But it is all good. Every single person who sacrificed waging war against The axis deserves the deepest of eternal thanks from everyone in western civilization.
Yeager, the Russians were allowed to take credit for beating Germany. it took all of the allies to defeat Germany, no one or even 2 of the nations could have done it without the others.
America supplied the Russians and the Brits, the Brits provided a base of operations from which the invasion of Europe and the bombing of German infrastructure could be launched, the Russians maintained pressure on the eastern front drawing the cream of the German warm machine away from the west where the invasion was to come. any one of these three elements missing from the mix would have guaranteed either a German victory over all of Europe or a negotiated peace leaving germany as the power house in that part of the world.
As far as Excel and his statements, they are so ridiculous they are not worthy of a response.
