Vertical convergience can still help "lift" your cannons into the same path as the MG's.

Pull up the target with the .target xxx where XXX - yards you want it at.

So for target at 300 yards it would be
 .target 300

That really only comes into play with heavy lead deflection shots.

For 125 yards, for 525 yards, it's automatically set so that the wing cannons and the nose MGs hit the same spots. The only reason they would have different convergences is for shots you make while pulling Gs. If you've got a good steady shot it doesn't matter.

P.S. IMO forget "lifting" the cannons. You want to shoot higher, AIM higher. You'll get a better mental picture and you can aim wherever you like (often times when I land hits my "center" is not on the target -- its like flying looking backwards, something you should be able to do)

I've found all of these worked well for me. For my flying style they all hit very hard..especially the spit and FM-2. I almost always have the inside 50's set out a little farther and the outside shorter creating a criss cross affect at different points of yardage.

Spit 8

Ki-84

The 51 I had set a little farther out at one time but found setting them up in this way offered me the best range long and short. Many use similar settings with the inside guns set between 375- 425 and outside slightly shorter.

Range finder actual numbers

When D200 appears your actually 300 yrds and falling as you get closer and won't change until 101

D200 is between 101-300yds,

D400 is 301-500yds,

D600 is 501-700yds.

This is how big your plane is in the target. I ran some tests one day using a P-51 a couple years ago looking for the best range and pattern.
