USB joystick not responding
« on: September 29, 2001, 07:49:00 AM »
I enjoyed playing AH and bought a Rockfire QF-606U U.S.B. joystick.  This installed ok and responds to its config utility in Control Panel.  However, AH does not see it.

Advice welcomed ...

Rob:

I just had this same problem last night; make sure you have the latest drivers for your stick, especially if you're running DX8. I logged on last night with a new hard drive, everything else the same except this drive is loaded with DX8....no stick in AH. D-loaded the new drivers, no problem.

Good luck,
MaxQ

I know this sounds kinda basic, but sometimes the answer to a problem is something very simple and basic. Have you gone into Aces High  Setup/joystick/choose joystick and assigned each axis for your sticks and pedals to the correct stick, and the correct input?

If your stick responds in Windows, and then not in the game, it does sound like you may not have assigned a function to each axis.

Be sure to hit enable, or whatever, after assigning each stick and axis, then make sure to hit apply and ok to save out. Check it out in the calibration area.

Hope it's as simple as that.

AH has the ability to use multiple controllers, thus it allows you to select between them.  Click setup> joystick in AH and make sure the correct joystick is selected.
