Most of us do when numbers require it.
One reason I'm asking Molson about his schedule is because historically the 20th FG flew the P-38 and P-51. I'd like to see historically minded squads get a chance to fly their actual aircraft against it's actual opponants. If making an Axis AvA squad would help bring that about it's a positive step in gaining more interest in the arena. The biggest roadblock to this I see  is the arenas lack of a standards on settings and the move away from historical setups to the geewizz fantasy type setups. It's hard enough to seel the no icons thing. Selling settings that change on a weekly whim is even harder. There's five fantasy arenas that run 24/7 The EWA MWA both LWAs and the TA. If the AvA is going that direction there's not much sense in putting the effort of squad building or recruiting other squads or members into it and I'd just as soon leave it to the private flying club mentality it is currently moving towards.. Just my two cents ymmv.

I am usually in the arena every night except Weds cause I am on a 36 hr tour with work then I log on thursday nights. I been trying hard to get a few from the squad over but seems like some of them have no interest in AvA once and a while you will see Bar321 in there with me but other then that we have guys log on at all times of the day. Originally before we became the 20th FG we were the 582nd a Japenese Based squad that flew zekes and all but since we started to get into the Escorting Biz plus low recruits we voted to go with a traditional American based Squad and adopted the 20th FG due to the fact of history that goes with that Squad dating back to WW1 and still to this day is very active. but who knows one day I  may be able to work on getting the squad over for a night and I will let you know

now that is something my squaddies could get into. they like the 38 for its history, and beauty. me too. for me to be able to fly my beloved 38 o doom against only luftwienie planes, or japanese candles, is nearly ah nirvana.

I find it more intersting flying as a  Historically based squad for example when I flew with Riddlers Raiders aka 479th alot flew the 38 me on the other hand was a buff pilot and XO of the wing, now I am kinda getting the hang of fighters again with having to worry about the hordes in the MA's and I can practice more in AvA with no enemy icons on and all and my SA seems to be getting somewhat Better. I do tend to see myself jumping into others fights and I am trying hard not to. If you would like check out our Site 20thfglocobusters.webs.com alot of good things there along with many intersting links.

one of my problems in the mw arena, was that i had myself beome one of the timid fliers that i hate so much.

rather than just jumping into a fight, i'd go high, and slash through it. if i got jumped, i'd come back higher. i was becoming a total puss.

here in the ava, i do just as i used to do. i jump into the middle, and parts be damned. live die win lose....doesn't matter. if the fight was fun, then in the end, the tall skinny dork sitting in front of this monitor won regardless. that is what the ava, and all of you  guys that populate it give me. this entire combination has breathed new life into this game for me.

i'd almost like to go back to mw, and see how i do now, but why bother? it's probably still the same poop pile it was a couple of months ago.

i haven't hit the doc yet......the headache was going away a little bit....then on friday, it just suddenly wasn't there anymore. i came home saturday, ate dinner, and passed out....slept straight through till sunday morning.

i strongly suspect it had something to do with the sudden change in the weather to be honest.......i need to get a filling fixed, then the doc to be sure i'm not about to wake up dead.

thanks for asking dude!! i really do appreciate that!!!  :aok

One idea would be squad(s) v. squad(s) in a historical set-up or in their historical rides.  For instance VF-17 vs. JG-11--in our historical rides.  The question/issue is I'm not sure how historical that match up would be?  But, the idea being, is if we could do a squad v. squad (or squads--ie, expand to a few more squads who fly german and navy iron) and get a few more in to see how fun this arena is, maybe a few more would come in.  We could do this on a off night of FSO (and maybe a little earlier so Bug can get his beauty rest  :devil

If it worked, then expand it and/or get other squads to take up the torch.  Again I see it to fill in those 1-2 week off FSO nights.

I still fly MW almost daily and I can tell you my SA and fighter skills have increased ten fold!  and i have been playing this game for nearly 10 years.  Id love to go into the MW or MA arena with you CAP and work on wingman tactics.  Ive never had anyone to do that with and I think you and I could kill the "cancer" in the AvA with a little bit of teamwork.  Or any regular for that matter.  If anyone would like to do this please let me know!  Would be good idea anyway since we are trying to grow the arena and invite squads in.

And what i mean by "kill the cancer" is play it their way and see how they respond.  Only time i get anything out of either one of them is when i manage to survive the hoe and kill them.....

Grumpy,

Jappa and I fly tactical on each sortie.  When we are both on, you will alway see us in a "Tac Spread".  We are dedicated to it, do a formation takeoff each time, fly close fingertip enroute, split to tactical in the threat area, rtb in the formation appropriate for the situation, and land in a fingertip.  We are on the lookout for those interested. It takes a lot of practice to get the timing of tactical mutual support flying down.  If you or anyone else is interested, let one of us know.  :airplane:

                                                :airplane:

I would suggest learning Tactical in the AvA, TA, or DA.   The Hordes in the MAs make it a bit tough to concentrate on something new when 29 twits are swarming around like barn flies. :salute
